COMMON ANSWERS:

1)  HOW DOES YOUR SERVICE WORK?
We make it easy for you to pay your rent, homeowners association dues, or even your tuition with a credit card.  It is a simple three-step process to make your payment online.  First, you must choose the type of payment and select your payee from the list of registered institutions.  Second, you checkout and pay using your credit card.  Finally, we transmit your payment to the payee.  To sum it up, you’ve paid using a credit card, but we’ve sent them a check!  If you don’t see the institution you’d like to pay in our system, its easy to add one.

2) HOW CAN YOU LET ME USE A CREDIT CARD WHEN THE COMPANY/PERSON I WANT TO PAY DOES NOT?
The innovative Payment Genius system works for almost everyone because we make a payment on your behalf – just like a bank does when you use online bill-pay.  It doesn’t matter who the check comes from, as long as the institution who receives the check knows how to credit the payment.  When you employ us to make a payment on your behalf, we accept the credit card and then give you payee what they want – a check!

3) CAN I EARN POINTS OR MILES WHEN USING PAYMENT GENIUS?
Of course!  We accept cards that earn miles, points and even give cash back!  Close to a free trip or a free new TV?  Your points can rack up fast when you use our service.  Rewards cards often give between 1% and 3% in rewards, so depending on the rewards card you have, you can more than cover the cost of our service with your rewards!

4) CAN YOU AUTO-BILL MY CREDIT CARD EACH MONTH?
YES – we can automatically bill your credit card each month and send payments for you.  Save time and energy, and let us make payments for you.  Your payments will show up on your credit card statement for easy accounting.  Setting up auto-bill payments is easy and can be done two ways:

  • Simply complete the "Recurring Payment" section when submitting a payment during checkout
  • If you don't want to make an immediate payment, please contact us so we may manually setup your recurring payments

Setup your recurring payments to day and let our auto-bill system start working for you today!

5) DO YOU ACCEPT DEBIT CARDS?
YES – you can pay us with debit cards or bank cards.  Just checkout and pay as if it were a normal credit card.  You can use debit cards with the Master Card or Visa logos anywhere that accepts credit cards.

6) HOW CAN I ADD A PAYEE TO YOUR SYSTEM?
We’ve tried to make adding a payee a simple process.  You can add payees in one of two ways:

  • Make a payment using our ADD A PAYEE form (This may take an extra 48 hours to process so we can verify the new payee)
  • Request a payee addition through our online contact form (We will verify the payee and then notify you when it has been added to our payment system)

7) WHAT ARE THE FEES FOR USING YOUR SERVICE?
Our service fees vary depending on the amount you are sending.  Typically these fees are between 2.5% and 3% of the transaction amount.  To see a full outline of our fees, please click here.

8) CAN I MAKE A PAYMENT IN ADVANCE?
Yes, in fact we recommend that you make payments in advance.  You must remember that it can take up to 5 days for mail to be delivered, and if your payment is due in less than 5 business days you should use our expedited processing services.

9) HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY PAYMENT TO ARRIVE?
We send all of our payments out via US mail, unless we have a specific agreement to wire payments to an institution.  If your institution accepts wire payments, they are usually delivered in two business days.  If we mail your payment via USPS, it can take up to 5 business days to arrive.  We do offer expedited mailing services, including next day and second day delivery.  Expedited payments must be received before 12pm PST to be processed.  If they are received after 12pm PST they will take an additional day to arrive.

PAYMENT ANSWERS:

1) I DON’T SEE MY PAYEE/INSTITUTION ON YOUR LIST. HOW CAN I ADD A PAYEE?
We’ve tried to make adding a payee a simple process.  You can add payees in one of two ways:

  • Make a payment using our ADD A PAYEE form (This may take an extra 48 hours to process so we can verify the new payee)
  • Request a payee addition through our online contact form (We will verify the payee and then notify you when it has been added to our payment system)

2) I ACCIDENTLY SUBMITTED TWO IDENTICAL ORDERS.  WHAT DO I DO?
If you have made a mistake in your order, it is important to contact us as soon as possible.  In most cases we can cancel orders within 24h hours, however after that time frame there may be additional fees to cancel or stop a payment.  We make every effort to catch duplicate payments, however it is important for you to notify us if this has occurred.

3) I MADE A MISTAKE ON MY PAYMENT.  WHAT DO I DO?
If you have made a mistake in your order, it is important to contact us as soon as possible.  We have a full description of our payment cancellation and adjustment policies on a separate page and recommend you review the options described.

4) MY CARD IS NOT BEING ACCEPTED BY THE SYSTEM.  WHAT IS WRONG?
PaymentGenius.com is only able to accept certain types of cards for transactions.  Currently, we do not accept American Express or any business card.  If your card is a personal VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER CARD, or debit card, we should be able to accept your payment.
If your card meets the requirements outlined above, please verify the billing information you’ve entered.  We use your billing name, address, zip code and phone number to help us verify your transaction and prevent credit card fraud.  If you have all your information entered correctly and are unable to process your transaction online, please contact us so we may assist you.

5) I’VE MADE A PAYMENT BUT MY PAYEE SAYS IT HASN’T BEEN RECIEVED.
If your payee has not received your payment within 5 business days after you submitted payment (or within a proper time frame for our expedited services), you should contact us for assistance.  We can review the payment and either cancel the initial payment and re-issue a new payment, or we can let you know when the payment was processed by the Payee.

SECURITY ANSWERS:

1) HOW IS MY INFORMATION PROTECTED?
We take all proper precautions to ensure that the information you send us is private and secure.  During the order process all information is encrypted by industry standard SSL to secure the communication between our server and your computer.  Once we receive the data, order information is kept on encrypted file systems.  Finally, unless you have signed up for our auto-bill service, we do not keep your credit card information on file.

2) DO YOU SAVE MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION?
We only store credit card information if you have requested to be part of our auto-bill (recurring payment) service.  If you submit a normal payment online, once your transaction has been approved, your credit card information is deleted from our system, however we retain specific order and payment delivery information for our records.

3) HOW DO YOU TREAT MY PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We maintain a full privacy statement on a separate page, and request you review it for a full description of our policies.
